Prague Detectives is operated by Exero Group s.r.o. (IČO: 09022104), with its registered office in Prague, Czech Republic (the “Controller”, “we”, “us”). We treat the confidentiality of every client and inquiry as a foundation of our practice. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process, why, on what legal basis, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Act No. 110/2019 Coll. on the Processing of Personal Data.

    1. Data we collect

    • Identification and contact data you provide (name, email, phone, preferred communication channel).
    • Details of your inquiry, instructions and any documents you choose to send us.
    • Communication metadata (timestamps, IP address, device, browser) collected through our website and email systems.
    • Information lawfully gathered during a contracted investigation, in line with the Czech Civil Code and Act No. 273/2008 Coll.
    • Billing data necessary to issue invoices under Act No. 235/2004 Coll. on VAT and Act No. 563/1991 Coll. on Accounting.

    2. Purposes and legal bases

    • Responding to inquiries and providing investigative services — performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
    • Complying with statutory obligations including tax, accounting and AML — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
    • Protecting our legitimate interests, the safety of our staff, and the integrity of evidence — legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
    • Marketing communications, where permitted — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time.

    3. How we protect your data

All case files are stored encrypted at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to assigned investigators on a need-to-know basis under written confidentiality undertakings. Sensitive deliverables are exchanged only via encrypted channels or in person. Physical records are kept in access-controlled facilities.

    4. Sharing and recipients

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with vetted processors required to deliver our services (secure hosting, communication and accounting providers within the EU/EEA), with your legal counsel where you instruct us to, and with public authorities where required by law.

    5. International transfers

Our infrastructure is located within the European Union. Where any transfer outside the EU/EEA is necessary, it is protected by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and supplementary safeguards.

    6. Retention

Inquiry data is retained for up to 24 months unless an engagement begins. Case files are retained for the duration of the engagement and afterwards only for as long as required by statute (typically up to 10 years for accounting and AML purposes), after which they are securely destroyed.

    7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw consent. You may exercise these rights by writing to contact@praguedetectives.cz. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, www.uoou.cz).

    8. Cookies

Our website uses only essential cookies required to operate the site and aggregated, privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use advertising trackers or sell visitor data.
